Tryouts

While we do not conduct tryouts for this league, all players 10U and up will attend league evaluation day in March. Teams are organized shortly after and players will be contacted by their coach in mid-March. 8U players will be organized by the division coordinator and will also be contacted by their coach in mid-March.

Practices

Practice times and days will be set by the league and will start in early April or when the snow clears, whichever comes first. Practices in April are twice per week on either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur depending on coach’s and/or field availability. Once games begin, practices are coach’s discretion.

Games

Game schedules are set in mid-March at the coach's meeting and will begin in May and go through mid-June. Games will typically be scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, with exceptions being make-up games, etc. Typically teams will play between 10-15 games.

10U and up participate in league playoffs. 10U/12U at the end of June, and 14U at the end of July.

All Star Night at Seymour Ball Club is usually held in mid July.

Uniforms

Uniform t-shirts will be provided by Seymour Ball Club. Players should wear cleats, softball pants and a fielder’s mask (required for 10U and up). Batting helmets MUST have a face guard. Bats and batting helmets can be borrowed from the team gear bag but players should have their own glove.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a player play up/down a level?

We generally will not permit players to play DOWN a level except in special circumstances, however, they may play up due to skill if requested. Once a player has played up, they will not be permitted to move back down except in extenuating circumstances.

Can players be on a team with their friends and/or a specific coach?

We will do our best to accommodate these requests. However, teams are organized to be as fair as possible so we cannot guarantee placement with another player/group of players or a coach depending on the pool of players.

Is there a specific color of pants/socks my child should wear?

This would be up to your coach after teams/uniforms are assigned.

Who do I contact with additional questions?

We can be contacted via email us at pwilkes@cwgroupwi.com.
